L&Q March 24
Yesterday's class just reinforced the idea that I need to create my own site and manage my own brand online. I am on so many social networking sites but do not have one that is solely mine. I have been looking for a good site to build a resume on because I just don't have the time to create my own site right now. I've tried out Flavors which seems to do the trick for now, but I don't think it effectively showcases "me". It was great to learn about the Brand-Yourself site and how you can calculate your Google Grade.
Will e-portfolios dominate? Will I no longer have to bring a hard copy of my resume and/or portfolio to an interview? Will I just tell the employer to check out my website to see what I am capable of doing? I definitely see the benefits of this, not to mention it saves some trees. Speaking from experience, the places I have applied ask for my work in digital formats for easy viewing.
