The successes of Google Analytics and hashtags

L: I was fairly surprised at the the amount of information is available through Google Analytics. For a free service, it provides users with such valuable information about measurement and metrics. Additionally, I am very glad Tonya and Jamie were able to explain the gist of Google Adwords. It can also be an extremely useful tool, and why every single nonprofit organization is not utilizing it is mind-boggling. Why isn't Google running the world? Well, G+ was never picked up as a great idea, and never got the following it expected.

Q: What is the best way to communicate Twitter hashtags to key publics? Is it ethical to use a hashtag on Twitter to benefit your product/service if you did not create it?

L&Q March 2nd

Learning about SEO and Google Analytics today was so interesting because I know that once we try to implement social media tactics into the workplace and with our clients, these results are one of the main ways the success will be judged. That is why it is so important to understand how it works and how to use these free, impressive tools to better understand your target market.

This leads me to the question, though, how can we use the information from Google Analytics and decide what changes need to be make to increase traffic, visibility, etc.? What steps can be taken to make improvements based on the data we receive?

Class 3-2-10: Google Analytics

I found the information we learned about from Google Analytics to be very interesting. Google Analytics has the ability to measure information that you never even knew you cared about. I am excited to get Google Analytics set up on my posterous blog and see what it finds. I believe that this is going to be a great tool to use for our clients as it appears to be a very efficient way of tracking website traffic.

Question: Because Analytics was not working when I tried to set it up I still do not know exactly how it works. If you want to measure your client’s website traffic do you have to set up a separate analytics account for each page or if you set it up for the site will it track the traffic as a while and also on each individual page?

Welcome to the World of Web Analytics 2.0

A key shift in the Web Analytics 2.0 world is that we don’t simply measure KPI’s but rather we do Key Insights Analysis (KIA’s) such as:

  • Click Density Analysis
  • Visitor Primary Purposes
  • Task Completion Rates
  • Segmented Visitor Trends
  • Raw Voice of Customer Pareto Analysis
  • Multi Channel Revenue Impact

Page views, path analysis, hits, visitors, and so on just aren't cutting it anymore. Think I'll grab this book too...
